Phuket Old Town

Phuket Old Town officially elevated to Phuket City in 2004, is a historical center in Phuket that was established during the tin mining boom at the end of the 19th century. Though the Phuket City is small, it hosts many superb Sino-colonial architectural style mansions, shophouses with arcade flank on street sides, Chinese shrines and Buddhist temples. Thus, this Old City in Phuket has become one of the most popular tourist destinations, especially those who wish to behold architectural structures and creativity of Thai people.

Phuket city has evolved to a great extent with the opening of many popular restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, bars, and others to become a commercial hub. The place gets an interesting atmosphere with places to hang out and chill after sunset. Tourists love to stroll in the region and the Old Phuket Town night market with shops on both sides of the boulevard. Phuket Walking Street is a popular event that is held every Sunday on Thalang Road attracting thousands of visitors.
