Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong MGallery has announced the opening of Tambu, a new addition to destination dining in Phuket. Serving progressive Indian charcoal cuisine located in an exquisite rooftop tent with stunning views of mountain forests and the Andaman Sea. The restaurant set in the hills around Patong Beach is led by Chef Saurabh Sachdeva, an accomplished culinary artist with extensive experience in Indian cuisine. He has won numerous accolades, including the Iron Chef Thailand award, and has worked alongside Michelin-starred chefs to hone his skills. Chef Saurabh is passionate about using fresh ingredients to create innovative dishes that showcase the rich flavours of India.

Tambu offers an immersive dining experience, inspired by the opulent “Tented Palaces” of the Mughal era in India. The menu features progressive charcoal cuisine cooked over glowing embers in Tandoor, Sigdi, and Tawa ovens. From classic curries to Indian Naans, every dish is crafted with traditional techniques and presented in innovative ways. The restaurant also offers mouthwatering Metha desserts to end the meal on a sweet note.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chef Saurabh and the Tambu restaurant team to Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong MGallery,” said Yogi Rana, the Cluster General Manager for Avista Hotels & Resorts. “Chef Saurabh’s innovative approach to Indian cuisine and commitment to excellence perfectly aligns with our values at the resort. “We look forward to bringing the unique Tambu experience to the fine dining in Phuket scene, and providing our in-house guests, travellers visiting the island, and the local culinary community with an expansive journey through India’s diverse regional cuisines”.

Tambu is open daily for dinner service between 6pm and 11pm and offers indoor seating in the luxurious tent and limited outdoor seating on the terrace.
